The Estonian Concrete Association presented the book "Eesti betoonehituse ajalugu". The publication gives an overview of the history of the concrete industry and construction in Estonia. The book was put together for the 10th anniversary of the Estonian Concrete Association.
The book is divided into four time periods – Tsarist era, the Republic of Estonia, Soviet Estonia and the newly independent Estonia. At the end of each time period, a chapter is dedicated to the architecture of that period.
The book was composed by Toomas Kään. There are several authors: The author of parts I, II and III is historian Uno Trumm, the author of parts III and IV is journalist Paavo Kangur and the author of architectural chapters at the end of each four parts is the construction historian Maris Mändel.
Editor Toomas Kään: "We attempted to put together an engaging comprehensive book that is of interest both to experts and those interested."
"Eesti betoonehituse ajalugu" is available in larger bookstores and at the Estonian Building Centres.
